What does obedience look like?

Hey everyone,

This October I will be packing up my car with my clothes, coffee mugs, and muffin tins to head to Gainesville, Georgia to attend Adventures in Missions leadership program called CGA. “Why Abbigail, didn’t you just go on a trip? Why are you moving to Georgia?”

Long story short I am going to Georgia out of obedience. Obedience. When was the last time you listened to that still quiet voice inside you urging you to do something good in the world? Can you remember that last time you stepped out in faith? Did you talk to a stranger, compliment them on their outfit, asked them how their day was, told them about Jesus? When you obey that voice inside of you despite the uncomfortableness you feel doing it, you grow. It would be comfortable and easy for me to stay in Illinois, live with my parents, get a job somewhere in the Quad Cities. It would be easy to ignore the voice in me, the holy sprit, and stay here where my friends and family and support is. But then I wouldn’t be obedient; I wouldn’t have the same opportunities to grow. “So I am moving to Gainesville, Georgia to participate in a leadership program called the CGA. What is this CGA? “

CGA is a program through Adventures in Missions, the same organization that I went on the World Race with. I felt like the Lord was calling me to sharpen my leadership skills to learn more about how to lead others and more about the Gods word. CGA gives me the opportunity to do this, to become a better person, a better Christian, to be more effective for the Kingdom of God. CGA is a leadership and discipleship program that will teach me more than I can ever imagine. CGA stands for Center for Global Action, their goal is to send out a young adults to be passionate followers of Jesus who lived out their faith whether at home, professionally, at church, on the mission field. “Where can I learn more about this CGA?”

Go to their site https://www.adventures.org/globalaction/ or email me at [email protected] and most defiantly subscribe to this blog. That way you can be updated with my experience at CGA.

“Wow this sounds cool. How can I help?” Well I am glad you asked reader. I could really use the prayers. This next season I know God is going to push me to become more like Him. That’s hard, dying to self is hard, letting God be the king of your life, is hard. Pray for me, reach out every now and then and ask how I am doing. Ask about what God is doing in my life. The other way you could help is by donating. Partner with Gods kingdom, invest in the Kingdom, Partner with me, and invest in me.

CGA fundraising is due in increments just like the Race. I have until October 6th to raise $2,500. I need the full amount of $5,950 by January 6th.  If you are interested in partnering with the kingdom and me financially you can click the “Donate” Button on this page. Don’t think you have to donate $100 to be affective, $5, $10, or even $20 would go a long way. Even if you don’t financially partner with me, PLEASE pray for me and the other people doing CGA. Prayer support is powerful and important.
